You want a volunteer opportunity that offers you the ability to grow while fitting into your busy schedule. That is why we have developed three volunteer tracks you can apply for. After volunteering with us, you may be invited to become a key team member - with even more associated perks!

Internships

Internships

Our internships are designed for students and early-career professionals who want hands-on experience and structured learning.

Interns receive free training and one-on-one feedback as they work on real-world projects. At the end of the program you will have a portfolio of completed work to demonstrate your mastery.

Internships run for a set period (such as a semester or Thanksgiving).

Contributors

Contributors are the heart of BRITE Institute. If you’re juggling school, work, or life—but still want to make a difference—this path is for you.

As a contributor, you will be provided free training and mentoring. You will work on critical tasks alongside team members and other volunteers

This path is selective and best suited to those with relevant experience, high standards, and a deep desire to make a lasting difference.

As a BRITE Coach, you’ll guide, mentor, and empower volunteers and interns working on high-impact projects.

What does BRITE Institute do?

BRITE Institute is a research and development nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring AI improves patient care and safety - and that AI does not endanger patient safety. We conduct both basic and applied research, work with industry, and develop tools to improve the design and implimentation of AI in heatlhcare.

What kind of research does BRITE Institute do?

Our research includes basic studies for understanding complex system risks and applied studies for developing effective risk management technologies. You can see our current research here.
