Help patients make safer healthcare decisions. As a Patient Education volunteer, you’ll create clear, practical resources that help patients avoid preventable harm and understand how tools like AI can support better, safer care.

Oppertunity Description

BRITE Institute is seeking volunteers passionate about patient education and safety to help develop clear, practical resources that empower patients to make safer healthcare decisions. In this role, you will help create guides, articles, visuals, or other educational materials that help patients avoid preventable harm and better navigate modern healthcare systems.

You may also help translate complex topics—such as the role of AI in healthcare—into simple, trustworthy information patients can use to improve their own care.

This is a flexible opportunity for writers, educators, healthcare professionals, designers, or researchers who want to help patients become more informed, confident partners in their healthcare.

Requirements

Internships:

  • Medical education, such as pre-med, nursing school, etc
  • Strong written communication skills

Contributor:

  • Hands on patient care and/or education experience

Coaches:

  • Interest in teaching and coaching upcoming volunteers
  • 5+ years of work in patient education
